Internships Available IMMEDIATELY
Policy Research Intern
Development Intership
Our competitive internship program is intended to introduce bright, innovative undergraduate students to the policymaking process and encourage them to become active and effective participants in public affairs. By working directly with our program and field directors, interns gain solid professional experience. In addition to their day-to-day assignments, interns attend conferences and congressional hearings designed to introduce them to current policy debates.
The Institute offers part-time and full-time internships throughout the year, typically for the duration of a school semester. Candidates for all internships should have excellent communication skills, research skills, the ability to work independently, be multi-task oriented, and take initiative when needed. We are currently looking for full time and part time interns for all semesters. Hours are flexible.
Policy Research Internship
The Institute is seeking motivated full-time or part-time undergraduate policy research interns to assist the Communications and Economic Policy Director and Energy Policy Director, ideally beginning in September 2007 through December 2007. Responsibilities include providing research and some administrative assistance for the Institute’s projects. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in substantive and independent research, in addition to attending relevant meetings, congressional hearings, and other discussions and events.
Qualified applicants are generally junior and senior undergraduates majoring in economics, political science, social sciences, or business.
Development Internship
The Institute is seeking a motivated full-time or part-time undergraduate development intern to assist the Development Director and Field Director, ideally beginning in September 2007 through December 2007. The intern will learn about organizational fund development, while also achieving broad exposure to the inter-workings of non-profit and association management. Interns also will gain valuable insight into corporate and foundation relations, and first-hand experience in the design and implementation of an organization-wide development plan. In addition, interns will learn about the Institute’s policy issues through meetings with other staff and by attending meetings, congressional hearings, and other discussions and events.
Qualified applicants are generally junior and senior undergraduates majoring in political science, social sciences, or business, though we encourage any interested student to apply.
